2014 Lexington Catholic Knight Josh Mesmer (Commonwealth Kings Black) has committed to Division III Transylvania University in Lexington, KY. Josh will be a member of the Transylvania Pioneers after this season. Josh is a 6’ 2” attackman/midfielder that is one of the state’s premier offensive players. Josh was one of Commonwealth Kings most potent offensive threats over the past two summers at the U19 level and was recruited at the Division I, II, and III level. He was awarded all-star nods at Carolina Summer Shootout, Great Lakes Games and LB3 Summer Jam. Mesmer is a three-year starter going in this season after breaking the school’s single season scoring record with 74 Goals and 21 Assists last year.  Josh’s accomplishments are not limited to the lacrosse team as Josh was a three-year starter for Lexington Catholic’s football team and three-time all-city linebacker.

“Josh is a work horse athlete that is going to have great success playing for Coach Justice at Transylvania University,” said Commonwealth Kings Black Coach Logan Otto,  “Josh brings great skill and is going to be a very tough matchup for any defender at the next level.  Coach Justice is getting a phenomenal lacrosse player but an even better person who puts in the effort on the field and in the classroom.  We are very glad he found a school that is the right fit for him.”
